Miami Carnival Promises To Be One of The Most Colorful and Vibrant Expressions of Caribbean Culture

The international cultural phenomenon to hit South Florida’s Caribbean Metropolis Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Sun Life Stadium, Miami Gardens

(Miami)-The ultimate kick-off to the 2013 Miami Carnival commenced with a special launch event on July, 20th that festively packed Sun Life Stadium as over 20 masquerade bands showcased their costumes. The Miami Carnival Launch was merely a tease of the pulsating energy to hit South Florida on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Sun Life Stadium where over 20 bands will participate this year and an estimated 25,000 people to attend. Miami Carnival is one of the most attended and highly esteemed festivals of South Florida. As the active tourism season in October resumes, a full schedule of signature events being planned and Carnival promises to have a major impact once again on the economy of South Florida.

Signature Miami Carnival Events:

  • October 6, 2013-Junior Carnival-Over 10 participating bands in the parade. Family friendly event. Children’s activities include face painting and bounce house. Location: Central Broward Regional Park-300 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill, Fl, 33311. Time: 12noon-8pm.
  • October 11, 2013-Kings and Queens @Carnival Village-Each participating masquerade band is led by a King and Queen, who wear extremely large costumes, often requiring extensions and wheels to assist the masquerader to carry it. Location:Central Broward Regional-300 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill, Fl 33311. Time:7pm
  • October 12, 2013-J’Ouvert (15 bands participating)-Central Broward Regional-3700 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill Fl, 33311. Time: 7am
  • Steelband Panorama @Carnival Village-Central Broward Regional-3700 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill, Fl 33311. Date:TBD
