26 Oct The 2012 Miami Broward One Carnival Wraps in “Mas” Style
The energy surrounding carnival week in Miami garnered global attention further emulating thoughts that Miami continues to be one of the most sought after carnival destinations in the world. The magic city welcomed over thousands of patrons who participated in the week long events associated with Miami Broward Carnival
“With tens of thousands of visitors from around the world, nation, and the State of Florida, Miami Broward Carniva
Carnival Executive Director Ruthven Williams mentioned “It is such a pleasure to get feedback from our bands, steelbands, masqueraders and participants who all had such a wonderful time during the Carnival week. Our thanks to all of them, also to the Board, the many supporters, sponsors and others who contributed to the success of the 2012 Carnival. I particularly thank and recognize the Miami Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and the Board of County Commissioners for their continued and ongoing support of our event.”
Additionally, celebrations were in store as Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago celebrated their 50th anniversaries. “With our commitment to the Caribbean Diaspora as a whole, I would like to thanks the various Consulates who assisted us and the huge contribution made by the Trinidad and Tobago Consul General and staff.” Rafiek Mohammed.
