Milestone Celebration Promises an unforgettable experience featuring food, music, pageantry, culture, and heritage.

Miami Carnival, the vibrant celebration of Caribbean culture, is thrilled to announce its 40th-anniversary festivities, scheduled from October 12 to 15, 2024, in Miami, FL. Miami Carnival has been a pulsating heartbeat for four decades, spotlighting the rich tapestry of Caribbean traditions and leaving an unforgettable imprint on South Florida’s cultural landscape. More than a mere festival, Miami Carnival has grown into a vital hub for cultural exchange, economic prosperity, and community unity. With its infectious soca and calypso beats filling the atmosphere and spectacular costumes gracing the parade route, Miami Carnival exudes joy, togetherness, and cultural heritage.

Fueled by the unwavering dedication and passion for Carnival, the Miami Broward One Carnival Host Committee(MBOHC) is gearing up to orchestrate one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year. This milestone anniversary marks four decades of honoring the best Caribbean culture and heritage, solidifying its status as one of North America’s premier cultural tourism attractions.

Supported by the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, Cultural Affairs Council, Miami-Dade County Mayor, and the Board of County Commissioners, Visit Lauderdale, and Broward County Commission, Miami Carnival invites guests to indulge in a plethora of Caribbean and international delicacies, beverages, and artisan crafts, enriching the celebration of Caribbean culture and pride. Tickets for the event are available for purchase at miamicarnival.org.

Miami Carnival has evolved into a cornerstone of the Caribbean diaspora, drawing participants and spectators from around the globe. Anticipated attendees from across the US, Caribbean, Africa, and Europe will converge in Miami for this year’s festivities.

Over twenty masquerade bands and eight steel bands will compete for top honors, and attendees will also be treated to the infectious rhythms of soca at the mega concert. The celebration encompasses pageantry, music, culinary delights, arts and crafts, and cultural experiences suitable for families of all ages.

Joan Hinkson-Justin, Chair of the Miami Broward One Carnival Host Committee, expresses her excitement: “Miami Carnival stands as a testament to the vibrancy and resilience of Caribbean culture. Our 40th anniversary is a testament to the enduring spirit that unites us all.” We look forward to celebrating the legacy of our founding members, who are the foundation for the success and growth of Miami Carnival.

As one of the founding members of Miami Carnival, Ruthven Williams, adds, “As we commemorate this historic milestone, we celebrate not just our past but the boundless potential of our future.”

Kathryn D’Arcy highlights the economic impact: “Miami Carnival’s contribution to our local economy cannot be overstated. It’s not just a celebration; it’s an engine of growth and prosperity.”

The weekend’s highlights include the iconic Miami Carnival J’ouvert and the Miami Carnival Panorama competition, complementing the rich cultural diversity of South Florida’s arts and culture scene. The pinnacle moment arrives on Sunday, October 13, at the Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds with the Miami Carnival Parade of Bands and Concert, an exquisite showcase of the traditional West Indian Carnival extravaganza.

As the event’s 40th anniversary approaches, anticipation builds for the diverse lineup of talent poised to grace the main stage, highlighting the finest Caribbean music and performance art.
